HELENE BERMAN

Hello friends !

Let's talk about coats and staying warm AND stylish !

With so many different coat shapes to choose from for the autumn/ winter season one of my favourite is the 60's inspired cocoon coat bringing the perfect balance between ladylike elegance and comfort.
Cocoon coats are stylish and elegant and all about minimalism, simple shapes and cosiness.
They are timeless and work well with all  type of clothing.

With cocoon coat all is in the volume and the shape. So you can play with the colour, bright or neutral like the  Giambattista Valli.
My ultimate favourite is the bright blue collarless model from Helen Berman, perfect to make a striking impression this winter.

Noticed in several fashion shows, beautiful examples of this are seen at Chloé and  at Jil Sander in beautiful pastel shades.
A seemingly timeless Jolie Madame style but proposed more and more in oversized versions, allowing all body parts to keep warm.
The other possibility is the cape always causing a sensation.

Think pillow sleeves ,dropped and broad shoulders, with a  straight fit or with a few extra buttons for a modern twist like at marks & Spencer  for less than £100 !

Oversized and volume were trends which worked their way onto many of the catwalks shows for this season, but it was the coats which really stood out for me.
The best way to wear it is to go for contrast and wear your voluminous coat with narrow trousers.

Textured cocoon coats are also a favourite of mine. The tweed version by Topshop is perfect to pair with  your favourite skinny jeans.
