Della x Urban Outfitters - Trendy stuff made in Ghana02:20
Della is a Los Angeles-based fashion line who is trying to "change the way people shop".
The woman-owned and woman-run business works directly with a community in Ghana and helps provide jobs, education and skills training to their employees.
Dela is the brand child of Tina Tangalakis a former wardrobe stylsit and California Institute of the Arts graduate.
In September 2009, Tina participated in a volunteer program abroad which landed her in Hohoe, Ghana. With her background in business and design, Tina teamed up with a local entrepreneur to begin Della, a socially responsible fashion line that provides jobs, education and skills training to women and men of Hohoe.
They are focus on providing attractive, quality products in a socially-responsible manner.
The brand is collaborating with Urban Outfitters and offers trendy, modern pieces such as rompers, cap and backpacks.
Ankara bomber jackets and batik cropped tops bring the brand closer to fashion. It all goes a bit further than what the quite basic accessories they usually offer.
I would definitely wear and buy those garments.
Nothing better than to look and feel good at the same time.
If the style are not your thing you can still get involve by donating to the Happy Kids Orphanage where the Della seamstresses volunteers weekly to educate and bond with the children.
